Sanctuary Announcements Many thanks to all in our community who supported Araceli and her family on March 31. We spread Araceli's story via national media coverage on major networks, for example NBC, CBS, and more. The donations given definitely made a dent in Araceli's legal costs. Although we hope that Araceli and her family will be going home soon, we still need volunteers to keep our building safe while she remains in Sanctuary. These are simple tasks but crucial to our work providing Sanctuary. Door monitors can bring a book, a laptop, a project to work on - they're just needed to guide visitors to their events. Sign up at tinyurl.com/parkhillsanctuary2. Also needed are dog-walkers for Carbunco and respite care providers to give Araceli some time to rest, work on her legal case, make jewelry, and more. If you are able to help out in these ways, please sign up at tinyurl.com/parkhillsanctuary. Thank you to our many volunteers!

Thanks also to many of you, who over the years, made Michael feel at home in our house, God's house, PHUMC! We had a beautiful memorial service today reflecting on Michael's life. Rest in peace Michael, you're in God's hands now. Blessings to all!

"Matching the joy of freedom with the need for purpose!" – USC "Senior" Program Urban Servant Corps – a Denver organization familiar to many PHUMC members – is exploring an inter-generational extension of our current young adult program and would love your feedback! In response to the continued need of volunteer work at our non-profit partner sites, as well as the opportunity for folks to find meaning and/or structure in their retirement years, USC hopes to begin a "Senior" Servant Corps (name to be determined). As we talk about the feasibility of this kind of program, your insight is important! Please fill out this brief survey if you are between the ages of 55-75(ish). Of course, there is no commitment/obligation at this time...just seeking feedback from important people like you! Reach out to Alex McHardy [email protected] if you have questions. Our Inter-generational Sermon Series continues this week with a focus on the Millennial generation. Join us, and plan to stay afterwards to March for the Velasquez family!
Sanctuary News Grant Araceli a Stay of Deportation Sunday, March 31, 10:45am at PHUMC/Temple Micah Facebook event page: www.facebook.com/events/2314375622221246. The time has finally come! After 19 long months of patience, we are ready to request that ICE put a stay on Araceli's deportation orders so that she may go home with her family while waiting for her asylum case to be reviewed. With this big move, it is crucial that our entire community gather together to raise awareness about her case, petition for her stay of deportation, and raise funds for the legal bills that are needed to finally move her case along. We invite everyone to join us at 10:45am (at the end of PHUMC's regular Sunday worship service) in order to give our support to Araceli, Jorge, Jorge Jr, Christopher, and Kevin. Our time together that morning will include a message from Araceli, the opportunity for you to sign her petition and give donations, as well as a procession as a more visible signal of our support. If you are not able to join us on the 31st, or if you would like to help ahead of time, please sign Araceli's petition online (www.afsc.org/keeparacelihome). You can donate to the family online through GoFundMe (www.gofundme.com/costo-legales-para-araceli). Donations on the 31st can be given via cash or check made out to Araceli Velasquez.
A potluck and discussion about where Park Hill UMC stands as a reconciling United Methodist congregation followed this morning's worship service. The Pastors Angie Kotzmoyer and Nathan Adams and Church Council leader Jeanelle Robnett reiterated that the Traditional Plan will change nothing for us as a congregation. Our proud history as a Social Justice church compels us to continue to be exactly who we are, where all people are loved and welcomed.
